At the time of staying here, this hostel was the cheapest that I've ever stayed at, with 20 Boliviano's converting to less than US$3. And then considering that I had a private room, with three beds in, this turned out to be an absolute bargain. It's very no-frills. You will have to pay extra to get a private bath-room. And there is very little in the hostel itself to keep you entertained. No tv-room, no Internet, no wi-fi. And although there is a room called 'kitchen', it has no cooking facilities and perhaps one pot. Staying here, you will want to eat out for every meal. But how the Hell can you complain about a place at this price? The staff were very friendly, although don't speak English. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and secure. Just don't expect much more. But for 20 bolivianos... fuck this is a bargain. My one gripe would be that at one point staying here I had to break a padlock which was refusing to open. And this has to be the only hostel in the world that doesn't have a hacksaw on site. Particularly worrying considering that this is a big hostel. And right across the street is another hostel owned by the same people. And instead it took me four-hours of hitting this padlock with a rock to get it open. So when I say no-frills, I really mean no frills. No Internet, no tv-room, not even a hacksaw. You get a room, with a bed or three. And you get access to a bathroom. That is it. At 20 bolivianos it's a bargain. Just don't expect The Ritz.

This hostel was very comfortable until it came to the task of checking-out. They operate a policy of an early 10am check-out, which I will not deny that we were late for. But come 10:25, we were greeted by the staff banging on the door and threatening to charge for an additional night if we were not out of the room soon. It put something of a downer on what was otherwise a very pleasant stay. In our room we had three beds, including a double, and the bathroom was en suite. There was regrettably only one plug in the room, which meant that trying to use your laptop whilst someone else was drying their hair wasn't possible. And there is a yard here, including an (inactive) water-feature. This would have been nice were it not for the screaming kids, residents of the hostel, that were constantly playing there. This was noise that also transmitted into the room. Locationally it is spot-on being only one block from the centre of the town. I enjoyed my stay here. But the attitude of the staff upon check-out really left a negative impression of this hostel. It's got comfortable facilities. But don't expect to be welcomed with a smile.

The best (and most expensive) of the three Copacabana hostels that I had stayed in at the time of writing. TV's with cable in the rooms, hot showers (en suite), and good breakfasts (10-15 Bolivianos extra). This hostel is located a 10-minute walk from Lake Titicaca. But this negative is overidden by the rooftop terrace which provides panoramic views of all of Copacabana and beyond. The staff here were great (a stark contrast to those at Alojamiento Kotha Kahuaña). Going to Isla del Sol for a few nights? Well they're more than happy to store you backpack here for free. And they always spoke with a smile and were always helpful. And unlike those staff at Alojamiento Kotha Kahuaña, there was no backlash for a marginally late check-out. Like I said, the best of the three hostels which I'd stayed in in Copacabana at the time of writing, with the one negative being the short-walk into the town. Located almost opposite Alojamiento Emperador, this is the definite preference between those two. Although if you struggle with altitude and want to be nearer the town, then this may be something of an inconvenience to you. But if you don't mind the short-walk, then you cannot fault this place. I really, really loved it.
